The Language Centre of the University of León,, with a trajectory of more than 70 years in the teaching of Spanish as a Second Language, invites you to take part in this exceptional summer course, designed specifically for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) from all around the world.
This programme combines professional upskilling with full immersion in the magnificent heritage of the city of León and its province, offering you an enriching and rewarding experience.
- Our instructors will guide you towards achieving the following objectives:
- Methodological Innovation: Learn and apply innovative teaching techniques that will transform your classroom practice.
- Materials Development: Enhance your ability to design and develop effective and relevant teaching materials.
- Language proficiency: Broaden your in-depth knowledge of the Spanish language and its culture, improving your spoken and written fluency.
- Take part in interactive activities to exchange experiences with colleagues from different countries.
Option A: Full Immersion Package – €1,230
It includes everything you need to focus solely on learning and enjoying the experience.
What does the price include?
- A two-week course comprising40 intensive hours.
- Accommodation in a single room in a university hall of residence (arrival on Sunday and departure on Saturday) on a half-board basis: daily breakfast and lunch.
- Cultural Itinerary:
- Guided visit of the city of León (an itinerary through the Roman, medieval, and modernist historical heritage of the capital).
- Guided visit of León Cathedral (a Gothic masterpiece renowned for its impressive ensemble of medieval stained glasses).
- Guided visit of the Basilica of San Isidoro (home to the Royal Pantheon, known as the “Sistine Chapel of Romanesque Art” for its frescoes).
- Trips:
- Trip to the Valporquero Caves (a spectacular karst cave with an underground river and unique geological formations).
- Trip to Astorga (a bimillennial city featuring a Cathedral and the Episcopal Palace, a modernist work by Gaudí).
Possibility of a €200 or €400 subsidyfor accommodation in the university hall of residence (please enquire).
Option B: Course and Activities
If you prefer to arrange your own accommodation, the cost of the course and the full cultural programme is €600.
